Crystal City Mind is a multi-faceted design object made from highly polished high grade steel and matte black surfaces. COORDINATION and diephotodesigner.de toured Berlin’s city centre with the sizable object, capturing impressions along the former Berlin wall. The resulting images show how rapidly Berlin has evolved in the last 20 years and how vividly the old and the new come together.

Charged with impressions of Berlin, Crystal City Mind will now travel the world with London as its first stop where it will be sharing these impressions with its environment. Crystal City Mind is an ambassador of Europe’s most exciting city and communicates the merging of past and present. With this, the collaboration between COORDINATION and diephotodesigner.de is symbolic of what makes the Berlin design scene so unique: the breaks and cuts, the network of giving and taking, the old and new, the swish, the charming and the unfinished and the pleasure in constantly changing the perspective.
